Registration for the 2012 Weston Noble Alumni Choir event has begun! Weston Noble has requested a special California retreat and concert tour for the summer of 2012 - celebrating his 90th year.
We have limited spaces in the choir in all vocal sections and we highly recommend that you register ASAP to assure your place in the choir. We have established a waiting list for Soprano and Alto sections until additional Basses and Tenors register.
The 2012 Plan
The plan for 2012 is similar to the 2010 event where some people registered for the shorter rehearsal retreat only, and others both the retreat and the concert tour. Mr. Noble's goal is expressly to allow as many of his former students to participate in an event. Those who cannot spare the time for the 13-14 day event (Tier 1), may be able to attend the 5-6 day event (Tier 2).
Tier 1:
Rehearsal retreat at Evergreen Conference Center Oakhurst (ECCO) followed by a California concert tour (13-14 days total):
Sunday, July 22 - Saturday, August 4
Concerts include: Yosemite
SanFrancisco (2 concerts)
Santa Barbara
Los Angeles
San Diego
Tier 2:
Rehearsal retreat (5-6 days total): Sunday July 22 (check in to ECCO) - Friday July 27 (check-out of ECCO)
Concert at Yosemite's Curry Village on Thursday, July 26.
The 5 day rehearsal retreat will be held in a beautiful camp setting at the Evergreen Conference Center Oakhurst ECCO. The conference center is 15 miles south of the entrance to Yosemite National Park. The retreat will include trips into the park, rehearsals, social events, and will culminate in a concert at Yosemite. Cost for Tier 2 will include 3-meals per day supplied buffet style at ECCO. (Costs will not include air-fare - Fresno is the nearest airport). Register today, before it is too late!
What was to be a semester is now the entire school year - Weston Noble is now teaching at Augustana Sioux Falls! Recently, KDLT News interviewed him: Watch the video and read the article.
